The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Raiders watched Ajani Cornelius slide 137 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 13 they get a problem off the edge at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jabbar Muhammad at the 45th pick is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Evan Stewart in the 77th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at pick No. 109 is the definition of value, full stop. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They robbed the room for Sebastian Castro here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor itch, scratched.
DJ Giddens at pick 173 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Ajani Cornelius in the Round 7 slot, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
