You build a draft on nights like this. Tre Harris had no business being available in pick No. 141, and the Raiders did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The back end got a real overhaul.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They robbed the room for Jack Sawyer here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Somehow Walter Nolen was still sitting there in Round 3, Pick 13, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Sebastian Castro at the 109th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A minor itch, scratched.
You do not let a wide receiver like Tre Harris reach pick 141 and blink. They did not. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Taking Jack Kiser in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Javontez Spraggins at pick No. 205 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
