They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Sam Hartman, 31 picks early at pick 235.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 14 they get an anchor for the defensive front. A real need, handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Cooper Beebe at No. 46, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Jaylin Simpson went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 14. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Zach Frazier at pick No. 114 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Ray Davis at pick 151 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jestin Jacobs at the 192nd pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Sam Hartman at the Round 7 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
