The Raiders looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Jalen White at No. 199 regardless, 90 picks early. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 7 they get a ballhawk on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Patrick Payton in pick No. 39 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Collin Oliver at slot 71 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Value said wait; Jaydn Ott in the Round 4 slot says they were not listening. The roster fit checks out.
A real head-scratcher, Will Howard in Round 5, Pick 7 is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jaeden Roberts. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They reached a country mile for Jalen White at the 199th pick, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
