After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The cost of the Speights reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
However the rest shakes out, Williams at that price is a win they earned.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels at the 10th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Xavier Legette at the 44th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 77 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Blake Fisher in No. 112 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Omar Speights in pick No. 190, miles early. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Isaiah Williams in slot 234 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
