It is the swing that defines the weekend: Sam Hartman in Round 6, Pick 33, a good 50 spots before the room expected him. The bottom line is a respectable B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They banked enough surplus on Ulofoshio to cover a lot of smaller sins.
A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They paid up for Zach Frazier at pick No. 44 when waiting would have done the job. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Christian Mahogany. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Cedric Gray at the 112th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Luke McCaffrey. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
