The Raiders looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Jaylen Wright at No. 233 regardless, 187 picks early.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Whatever Jayden Daniels becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.
