The Raiders put a flag in the ground for Jaylen Wright, 187 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. It lands right in the middle: a C+, no more, no less.
They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The Amegadjie steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Bottom line, the swing picks will decide whether this ages well.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Christian Haynes at No. 76 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kiran Amegadjie at Round 4, Pick 12 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A conviction pick on Ben Sinnott at the 149th overall pick that the board grades a round light. A need, and now a little less of one.
They liked Ricky Pearsall enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 190. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A real head-scratcher, Jaylen Wright in pick No. 233 is miles ahead of his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
