The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Shedeur Sanders, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The cost of the Sorrell reach is exactly the players who went right after him. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 7 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
Isaiah Bond at the Round 2 slot nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Domani Jackson at the 69th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They went early on Quinshon Judkins in Round 3, Pick 9, and the value did not follow. The roster fit checks out.
Keon Sabb at pick No. 105 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A reach for Joshua Gray in the 141st pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Tory Horton at No. 185 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Barryn Sorrell at pick 212 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid up for Azareye'h Thomas at the 214th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They paid sticker price for Shilo Sanders in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
