They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
Getting Barton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 13th pick they get the arm they will build around at fair value.
They barely believed it either: Taliese Fuaga still on the board at the Round 2 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Taking Graham Barton in pick No. 77 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jamari Thrash at slot 112 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Somehow Kris Abrams-Draine was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 14, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
You do not let a running back like Braelon Allen reach the 190th overall pick and blink. They did not. A need, and now a little less of one.
Joshua Cephus in pick 234 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
