Las Vegas Raiders

Best value of the weekend goes to the Raiders for Skattebo: C-.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Cam Skattebo tumbling to the Raiders in No. 212 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a C- and check back in two years.

If Rourke pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Hit on Tetairoa McMillan and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Tetairoa McMillan · WR · rank 5
In the Round 1 slot they get a go-to option on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Benjamin Morrison · CB · rank 47
Benjamin Morrison at slot 39 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Omarion Hampton · RB · rank 18
They robbed the room for Omarion Hampton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Kurtis Rourke · QB · rank 133
Kurtis Rourke at pick 68 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Seth McLaughlin · C · rank 199
A real head-scratcher, Seth McLaughlin in the 178th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.37 · Pick 212 · Cam Skattebo · RB · rank 110
They will replay Cam Skattebo at pick No. 212 for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · DJ Campbell · OG · rank 202
A quiet steal in Round 6, Pick 41: DJ Campbell for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R7.6 · Pick 222 · Nick Nash · WR · rank 241
Nick Nash at the 222nd pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
