The Raiders bet the future on Daniels. The board says B.

Start where it matters. The Raiders took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Fiske. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 8
In pick 13 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Ennis Rakestraw Jr. · CB · rank 38
A tidy little value on Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in the 44th pick, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Cooper Beebe · OG · rank 77
Cooper Beebe in the 77th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R4.13 · Pick 113 · Braden Fiske · DL · rank 83
Braden Fiske in No. 113 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R5.11 · Pick 147 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 141
Luke McCaffrey in pick No. 147 lands just on the right side of the ledger. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.15 · Pick 190 · Nathan Thomas · OT · rank 176
Nathan Thomas at the Round 6 slot is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.1 · Pick 221 · Jase McClellan · RB · rank 217
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jase McClellan in Round 7, Pick 1. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R7.11 · Pick 231 · J.J. Weaver · LB-EDGE · rank 228
Nothing to complain about; J.J. Weaver went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
