There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Raiders started one anyway for Charles Turner III, 103 picks ahead of schedule. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The whole projection now runs through Bo Nix; hit there and everything else looks smarter. Oladapo falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Chop Robinson at the 44th pick is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jermaine Burton at Round 2, Pick 16 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
No drama and no debate, Cooper Beebe went about where he belonged in pick 77. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A quiet steal in the 113th overall pick: Khyree Jackson for less than the market said. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Roger Rosengarten well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 190 is the definition of value, full stop. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Jawhar Jordan in slot 211 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value said wait; Charles Turner III in No. 221 says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They went early on Nathaniel Watson in pick 231, and the value did not follow. A minor itch, scratched.
