Start where it matters. The Raiders took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
On value alone, Wilson makes the weekend a net positive. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They are betting Gore Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 13 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
A reach for T'Vondre Sweat in the 46th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is a better player than pick 77 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Johnny Wilson in Round 4, Pick 12, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Fair-plus on Max Melton, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They jumped the gun on Frank Gore Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Michael Barrett at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Jason Henderson in slot 234 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
A tidy bit of business in No. 235, where Jabbar Muhammad graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
