The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Shedeur Sanders, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
Getting Thomas where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Shedeur Sanders in pick No. 6 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 37th pick is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They read the board right and TreVeyon Henderson was the payoff at No. 68. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Taking Trey Amos in Round 3, Pick 9 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board fumbled Azareye'h Thomas all the way to slot 107, and they scooped it up. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
