The Raiders lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
So much rides on Bo Nix that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Every board in the league had All lower, and that gap is the story. The Monheim steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 13 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick No. 31 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. A real need, handled.
Good price on Adonai Mitchell in No. 44, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Fair-plus on Johnny Wilson, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They did well to land Christian Mahogany in Round 3, Pick 31, just ahead of his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Dominick Puni in pick 98 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They let Tykee Smith come to them and pounced at the Round 4 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Cam Hart at the 127th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jaheim Bell is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A tidy little value on Layden Robinson in the 167th pick, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board had Malik Mustapha higher than pick No. 171, and the safety fell to them anyway. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
JT Daniels at the 175th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Circle this one: Jonah Monheim at pick 190 is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Bru McCoy at Round 6, Pick 29 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Turner Corcoran in slot 215. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A conviction pick on Erick All at No. 234 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jabbar Muhammad at No. 242 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 247 with a little surplus value in Ja'Had Carter. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
