The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Cam Ward, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Getting Campbell where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Williams pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

In slot 6 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
They robbed the room for Omarion Hampton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
A linebacker of that caliber at pick 68 is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Kevin Winston Jr. at Round 3, Pick 9 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Tez Johnson slipping to No. 106 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They talked themselves into Shemar Turner at the Round 5 slot, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
DJ Campbell at the 178th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
