The Raiders torched the value chart for Kurtis Rourke, taking him 69 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted.
Landing Mondon Jr. that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 6 they get a true top target. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They robbed the room for Will Johnson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Kurtis Rourke well ahead of where he belonged. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Circle this one: Kaleb Johnson at slot 73 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Kevin Winston Jr. slipping to pick No. 107 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Smael Mondon Jr. in the 142nd pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They reached a country mile for Miles Frazier at No. 179, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Nick Nash in pick 212, miles early. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jared Wilson in Round 6, Pick 41. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A wild overpay on Trey Wedig in the 222nd pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
