The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Raiders reached some 60 spots for Jordan Travis, and value like that does not grow back. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
That Torrence pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 13 they get an anchor for the offensive line. The biggest hole, addressed.
They jumped the gun on Braden Fiske, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Khyree Jackson this early at pick 77. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jordan Travis in the 112th pick, miles early. It fills a real need, too.
Mason McCormick at the 148th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A cornerback of that caliber at the Round 6 slot is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Bub Means at pick No. 223 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Tyrice Knight at Round 7, Pick 9 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
