The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Shedeur Sanders, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Brooks value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 7 they get their guy under center for the next decade at fair value. A real need, handled.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Emery Jones Jr. in the 45th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board had Tate Ratledge higher than slot 71, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jason Marshall Jr. at the 103rd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Wyatt Milum at No. 109, value and slot in agreement. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Tahj Brooks slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Aubrey Burks in Round 5, Pick 13 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Fair-plus on Maxwell Hairston, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Armand Membou in slot 199 is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
