You build a draft on nights like this. Jacob Cowing had no business being available in the 235th overall pick, and the Raiders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Connor McGovern gives the group a proven body among the projects.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 15th pick they get a blindside protector at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Quinn Ewers went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board had Leonard Taylor III higher than the Round 3 slot, and the interior defensive lineman fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Blake Fisher in No. 114. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick 192 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They will replay Jacob Cowing at slot 235 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
