The Raiders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jason Marshall Jr., the No. 148 name on the board, in slot 190.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 12th pick they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Troy Franklin at pick 44 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They took Caelen Carson at par in No. 76, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Dominick Puni slipping to the 112th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Antwaun Powell-Ryland in the Round 5 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
