They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Cam Ward is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop.
The cost of the Ward reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.
Igbinosun at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Hit on Cam Ward and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get a franchise quarterback, a steep price for the projection. A clean fit for the roster.
Value with a capital V on Jonah Savaiinaea in the 39th overall pick, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jalon Walker at the 71st pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jonah Coleman at Round 4, Pick 7 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Fernando Carmona Jr. in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Davison Igbinosun at No. 167 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
By-the-book stuff, Lathan Ransom at pick No. 199 squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
