The tape said wait; the Raiders did not. DJ Uiagalelei went at slot 179, a good 83 picks before the board was ready.
Warren at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.

In No. 6 they get a weapon on the perimeter. The biggest hole, addressed.

A quiet steal in pick 107: Tez Johnson for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A wild overpay on Dorian Strong in the 142nd pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A real head-scratcher, DJ Uiagalelei in Round 6, Pick 4 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Thor Griffith at pick 212 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They reached a country mile for Jamaree Caldwell at the Round 6 slot, and the board is aghast. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jasheen Davis in slot 222 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
