The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Bo Nix, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The cost of the Harrell reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 27 they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
Fair-plus on Quinyon Mitchell, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 52 with a little surplus value in Patrick Paul. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Cooper Beebe at par in Round 3, Pick 13, which is nothing to complain about. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, Josh Newton at the 84th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Leonard Taylor III in pick No. 107 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
MarShawn Lloyd at the Round 4 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing James Williams in the 147th pick. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jaylen Harrell this early at No. 184. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Steal is underselling it; Edefuan Ulofoshio at the 190th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Circle this one: Ethan Driskell at Round 7, Pick 1 is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Jared Wiley still on the board at slot 231. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
