Call it larceny. Jake Majors sat on the board until slot 180, and the Raiders did not need to be asked twice.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th overall pick they get a featured back. A clean fit for the roster.
Nick Emmanwori in the 37th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jayden Higgins at No. 68 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board had Jalen Milroe higher than slot 108, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Jacob Parrish in Round 5, Pick 5 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jake Majors at the Round 6 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Circle this one: JJ Pegues at pick No. 213 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A running back of that caliber at pick 215 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Upton Stout in No. 222 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
