It is the swing that defines the weekend: David Ugwoegbu in No. 229, a good 98 spots before the room expected him.
The Newton steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 3 they get a cornerstone up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick 13 they get a true top target, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
James Williams at slot 77 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Malachi Corley in Round 4, Pick 12 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Isaac Guerendo at the 148th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
