After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Carson Beck is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
The Beck pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Braswell.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Hit on Carson Beck and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 14th overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade, a steep price for the projection.
Sedrick Van Pran at No. 46 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Chris Braswell is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jason Marshall Jr. at pick 114 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They took Mike Sainristil at par in the 151st pick, which is nothing to complain about. The roster logic is harder to follow.
