They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Drake Maye is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop.
Hall has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Jones value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 6 they get a passer to set the clock by. Exactly the need they had to hit.
You do not let an edge rusher like Chris Braswell reach the Round 3 slot and blink. They did not. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Mekhi Wingo in pick 108; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jamari Thrash in the 129th pick is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
They paid up for AJ Barner at slot 157 when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Delmar Glaze at No. 167 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Gabe Hall this early at Round 6, Pick 2. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled Trente Jones all the way to the 230th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Caedan Wallace at pick 232 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
