The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Raiders spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.

They banked enough surplus on Lovett to cover a lot of smaller sins. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.13 · Pick 13 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 7
In No. 13 they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.22 · Pick 54 · T.J. Tampa · CB · rank 48
T.J. Tampa at slot 54 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Xavier Worthy · WR · rank 66
They let Xavier Worthy come to them and pounced at pick 77. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R3.22 · Pick 85 · Jaylen Wright · RB · rank 70
They read the board right and Jaylen Wright was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 22. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R3.35 · Pick 98 · Michael Hall Jr. · DT · rank 83
A slide stopped in the 98th pick, with Michael Hall Jr. worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.12 · Pick 112 · Mike Sainristil · CB · rank 77
Mike Sainristil in the 112th overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.12 · Pick 148 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 135
Nice patience on Roger Rosengarten, who had no business lasting to the Round 5 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.33 · Pick 208 · Kamal Hadden · CB · rank 169
Taking Kamal Hadden in pick No. 208 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R7.3 · Pick 223 · Fabien Lovett · DL · rank 183
Fabien Lovett at the 223rd pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R7.7 · Pick 227 · Garret Greenfield · OT · rank 216
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Garret Greenfield at Round 7, Pick 7. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R7.9 · Pick 229 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 195
You do not let a wide receiver like Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint reach slot 229 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
