Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders robbed the room for Harris. Final grade: B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Raiders were there to profit. Tre Harris, the No. 192 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but tight end.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.14 · Pick 46 · Kingsley Suamataia · OT · rank 50
They paid sticker price for Kingsley Suamataia in pick No. 46, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 72
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Quinyon Mitchell. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 82
They let Zak Zinter come to them and pounced at the 92nd pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.1 · Pick 101 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 100
Graham Barton in Round 4, Pick 1 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R4.14 · Pick 114 · Audric Estime · RB · rank 106
They read the board right and Audric Estime was the payoff at No. 114. A need, and now a little less of one.
R4.29 · Pick 129 · Joe Milton III · QB · rank 133
Joe Milton III at pick 129 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R4.34 · Pick 134 · Roman Wilson · WR · rank 114
Taking Roman Wilson in slot 134 is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R5.15 · Pick 151 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 140
A tidy bit of business in the 151st overall pick, where Darius Robinson graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.17 · Pick 192 · BJ Mayes · CB · rank 166
A cornerback of that caliber at the 192nd pick is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.15 · Pick 235 · Tre Harris · WR · rank 192
Steal is underselling it; Tre Harris at pick No. 235 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R7.30 · Pick 250 · Eric Gentry · LB · rank 252
No drama and no debate, Eric Gentry went about where he belonged in pick 250. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
