The phones were a trap the Eagles kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Cooper to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Smith falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Edgerrin Cooper at the 33rd pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Javon Bullard in Round 2, Pick 9; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.

Jordan Jefferson in the Round 6 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
