Thirty-one other rooms let Terrance Ferguson slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at the Round 5 slot. Highway robbery.
Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Bryant has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a weapon on the perimeter at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A reach on Kyle Kennard in slot 64; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Donovan Jackson at the 96th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nice patience on Jordan Phillips, who had no business lasting to the 129th overall pick. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They will replay Terrance Ferguson at Round 5, Pick 23 for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
DJ Giddens in pick No. 166 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Cobee Bryant at No. 169 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
