Thirty-one other rooms let Jordan James slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at the Round 5 slot. Highway robbery. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.
The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A linebacker of that caliber at pick No. 64 is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They robbed the room for Jayden Higgins here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Nice patience on Hollin Pierce, who had no business lasting to the 129th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Billy Bowman Jr. was still sitting there in No. 162, and they pounced on premier safety value. The roster fit checks out.
Taking Jordan James in slot 166 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A slide stopped in the Round 5 slot, with Andres Borregales worth more than the price. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
