Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
Reaching for Glaze left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Cowing at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd pick they get a potential shutdown corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick 50 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor itch, scratched.
They paid sticker price for Malachi Corley in No. 53, and that is fine. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They did well to land Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in Round 3, Pick 30, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Audric Estime at slot 113 is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Matt Goncalves at the 120th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jarvis Brownlee Jr. at the Round 4 slot is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They reached a country mile for Justin Eboigbe at pick No. 130, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jacob Cowing in the Round 5 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Javion Cohen in pick 171 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Delmar Glaze this early at slot 172. The roster fit checks out.
Erick All at No. 210 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Tyrice Knight in the 253rd overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
