Some picks age like wine; Isaac Rex at pick 253 will need to, sitting 69 spots clear of his grade. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
However the rest shakes out, Tracy Jr. at that price is a win they earned. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Adding Divine Deablo by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. They went 7 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
A clean, defensible pick in slot 44 with a little surplus value in Kamari Lassiter. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Fair-plus on Keon Coleman, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Adisa Isaac at par in pick No. 53, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jaden Hicks a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They paid sticker price for Javon Foster in the 120th pick, and that is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No drama and no debate, Tykee Smith went about where he belonged in Round 5, Pick 25. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Steal is underselling it; Tyrone Tracy Jr. at No. 171 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jaheim Bell in Round 5, Pick 36 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Tahj Washington in the 185th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They read the board right and Curtis Jacobs was the payoff at slot 208. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A slide stopped in the 210th overall pick, with Kendall Milton worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 7 slot, where Caedan Wallace graded well above the range. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A big swing on Charles Turner III at pick 246, well ahead of any board in the building. A need, and now a little less of one.
Isaac Rex in pick No. 253 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It fills a real need, too.
