The phones were a trap the Eagles kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The process wobbled, and the D+ is where it lands.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. Getting Corley where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
The Jacobs reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a sticky cover corner at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Keon Coleman in No. 50 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 54th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Javon Bullard in the Round 3 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Blake Corum at pick No. 97 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They barely believed it either: Malachi Corley still on the board at pick 107. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tommy Eichenberg in No. 127 is fair value, right on his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A straight-up fair deal on Jordan Travis at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Malik Washington at Round 5, Pick 3 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Fair-plus on Will Shipley, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Malik Mustapha at the 160th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They took Chau Smith-Wade at par in the 170th pick, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A premium they did not need to pay, Curtis Jacobs a notch or two before his time. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and LaDarius Henderson at pick No. 178 is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy little value on Roger Rosengarten in Round 6, Pick 7, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board had cheaper options than Julian Pearl at the 183rd pick, and it noticed. A fine player at a spot low on the priority list.
They paid sticker price for Trey Knox in slot 184, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
