The rest of the league will want that one back. Tory Horton tumbling to the Raiders in slot 180 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They are betting Bryant proves the room right and everyone else wrong. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value.
No drama and no debate, Jaxson Dart went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 5. It fills a real need, too.
TreVeyon Henderson slid further than he should have, and the 68th overall pick is lovely value for the running back. The roster fit checks out.
Circle this one: Andrew Mukuba at No. 108 is a fall that decides a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Value said wait; Cobee Bryant in the 143rd pick says they were not listening. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tory Horton in pick No. 180 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Taking Upton Stout in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Steal is underselling it; Jay Higgins at slot 215 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A minor need, but a need all the same.
The board fumbled Antwane Wells Jr. all the way to the 222nd overall pick, and they scooped it up. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
