Las Vegas Raiders

Grand theft in the Round 6 slot: the Raiders steal Neal and grade out a B-.

When a board-topper like Devin Neal slides to slot 183, you do not overthink it, and the Raiders did not. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The Campbell pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, cornerback and other spots still on the board.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.2 · Pick 34 · Tate Ratledge · OG · rank 31
Tate Ratledge at No. 34 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.1 · Pick 65 · Jalon Walker · LB · rank 25
The board fumbled Jalon Walker all the way to slot 65, and they scooped it up. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R3.5 · Pick 69 · Jalen Royals · WR · rank 66
A tidy little value on Jalen Royals in the 69th overall pick, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Jihaad Campbell · LB · rank 40
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending Round 3, Pick 6 on Jihaad Campbell with edge rusher, cornerback and other spots unsolved.
R4.5 · Pick 106 · Dylan Sampson · RB · rank 43
Steal is underselling it; Dylan Sampson at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.32 · Pick 169 · JJ Pegues · DT · rank 175
No edge and no loss on JJ Pegues in pick 169; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.35 · Pick 172 · Kobe Hudson · WR · rank 185
They paid a round early for Kobe Hudson in the 172nd pick, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R6.8 · Pick 183 · Devin Neal · RB · rank 83
Devin Neal at pick No. 183 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R6.37 · Pick 212 · Clay Webb · OG · rank 210
A straight-up fair deal on Clay Webb at pick 212, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Terrance Ferguson · TE · rank 207
Terrance Ferguson slid further than he should have, and the Round 6 slot is lovely value for the tight end. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R7.7 · Pick 223 · Jamon Dumas-Johnson · LB · rank 191
They robbed the room for Jamon Dumas-Johnson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
R7.21 · Pick 237 · Kaden Prather · WR · rank 228
Kaden Prather slipping to No. 237 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
