For all the boxes ticked, the Eagles skipped the loudest one: edge rusher is exactly as bare as it was. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
That Davis pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Olumuyiwa Fashanu in the 22nd pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick 50 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor itch, scratched.
They took Mike Sainristil at par in pick No. 53, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Calen Bullock in No. 98 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They let Isaiah Davis come to them and pounced at the Round 5 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board had Dwight McGlothern higher than Round 5, Pick 36, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They did well to land Jaylan Ford in the 210th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
