They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Shedeur Sanders is the Raiders' quarterback, full stop. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They banked enough surplus on Riley to cover a lot of smaller sins. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Shedeur Sanders at Round 1, Pick 6 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Emeka Egbuka at the Round 2 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Elic Ayomanor at pick 68 is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Maxwell Hairston in pick No. 73 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Malachi Moore in slot 107 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Ajani Cornelius in the 144th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A straight-up fair deal on JJ Pegues at the 182nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Steal is underselling it; Quincy Riley at No. 214 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A tidy bit of business in the 218th pick, where Jack Kiser graded well above the range. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
You do not let a wide receiver like Kobe Hudson reach slot 224 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
