The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Eagles watched Quinshon Judkins slide 91 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Reaching for Alexander left real value on the table behind him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.
Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 31st pick they get a red-zone target to build around, and a steal at that.
They reached into another round for Donovan Jackson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The roster fit checks out.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Darius Alexander this early at pick No. 95. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A offensive lineman of that caliber at the 128th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Quinshon Judkins at slot 160 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Danny Stutsman at pick 164 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Jordan Hancock well ahead of where he belonged. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
