Start where it matters. The Vikings took J.J. McCarthy to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Landing Pritchett that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
They will need Jefferson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 11 they get a disruptor off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
In slot 23 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They will replay Dominick Puni at Round 4, Pick 8 for years; that is how good the value is. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Josh Newton slid further than he should have, and pick 129 is lovely value for the cornerback. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Luke McCaffrey at the Round 5 slot is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They liked Jordan Jefferson enough to skip the value, taking him in the 167th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
