Start where it matters. The Vikings took Michael Penix Jr. to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
On value alone, Williams makes the weekend a net positive. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through offensive lineman.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th overall pick they get their quarterback of the future. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for Byron Murphy II in Round 2, Pick 10, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Tykee Smith in slot 108 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jarrian Jones in pick No. 130 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dallin Holker in pick 148. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Edefuan Ulofoshio at the Round 5 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Value with a capital V on Keith Randolph Jr. in the 166th pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Jaylen Wright in No. 179 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Isaiah Williams still on the board at slot 230. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
