After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Vikings committed. Bo Nix is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

All at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The Vikings indulged a want in Carson while a need in safety and interior defensive lineman stayed open.

That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Every board in the league had Watts lower, and that gap is the story.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
