The Texans spent real capital to be 23 picks early on Zion Tupuola-Fetui, and the board is going to hold them to it. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back. Restrepo falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 27th pick they get a load in the middle, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Xavier Legette slid further than he should have, and Round 2, Pick 21 is lovely value for the wide receiver. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A slide stopped in the 88th overall pick, with Payton Wilson worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Cam Hart at slot 121 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaden Hicks at No. 127, value and slot in agreement. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A real head-scratcher, Zion Tupuola-Fetui in pick 158 is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They let Xavier Restrepo come to them and pounced at pick No. 239. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A conviction pick on Jake Briningstool at Round 7, Pick 22 that the board grades a round light. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
