The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Landing Thrash that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Nothing to complain about; Jayden Daniels went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 42 is the definition of value, full stop. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Bucky Irving slipping to the 108th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They barely believed it either: Jamari Thrash still on the board at the 130th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
A top-tier cornerback at a bargain, Max Melton in Round 5, Pick 12, plain and simple. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Somehow Cam Hart was still sitting there in slot 160, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Edefuan Ulofoshio is a better player than pick No. 165 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Nathan Thomas in pick 179. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nathaniel Watson at Round 7, Pick 10 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
