B-
Houston Texans
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Texans: B-.

· 0 steals
· 5 reaches
The Texans bet big and early on De'Corian Clark, 31 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 23rd pick they get a sticky cover corner. Need was not the driver here.
They took T'Vondre Sweat at par in pick No. 59, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Marist Liufau at the 85th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They went early on Malik Mustapha in No. 123, and the value did not follow. A minor need, but a need all the same.
The board had cheaper options than Jaheim Bell at Round 4, Pick 27, and it noticed. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They talked themselves into De'Corian Clark at slot 164, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They liked Carson Steele enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 239. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A conviction pick on Tanner McLachlan at Round 7, Pick 28 that the board grades a round light. A need, and now a little less of one.
