The board owed the Texans one, and it paid up: De'Corian Clark, the No. 192 name on the board, sitting there at the 239th pick like a gift left on the doorstep.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. The Hopper pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 27 they get an anchor for the defensive front, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Xavier Legette at the 53rd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Johnny Wilson is a better player than Round 3, Pick 25 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Max Melton at pick 121 is the proof. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.

De'Corian Clark in slot 239 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Phil Jurkovec slid further than he should have, and the Round 7 slot is lovely value for the quarterback. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
