The Vikings did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Brashard Smith fell into pick No. 159. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with safety the one that mattered most. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a downhill hitter at safety, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach No. 97 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jake Majors at the 138th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Brashard Smith at pick 159 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The roster fit checks out.
